Here are some tips for caring for a Philodendron Brasil plant:
Light
Philodendron Brasil plants thrive in bright, indirect light, but can tolerate lower light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight, which can burn the leaves.
Water
Water when the top 2–3 inches of soil is dry, and allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Water until liquid flows out of the drainage hole at the bottom of the pot.
Temperature
Keep the plant in temperatures between 70–80°F during the day and above 55°F at night. Avoid cold drafts, especially in the winter.
Humidity
Philodendron Brasil plants prefer high humidity. You can mist the leaves, use a pebble tray, or set up a humidifier.
Fertilizer
Feed the plant once a month during the growing season with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer diluted to half strength. Reduce feeding in the fall and winter.
Pruning
Remove dead, discolored, damaged, or diseased leaves and stems. You can also pinch back stems to create a fuller, bushier plant.
Toxicity
Philodendron leaves are toxic to pets and humans. If ingested, they can cause swelling of the lips and tongue, stomach irritation, and possible vomiting.
Pot
Make sure the pot has drainage holes in the bottom.
Rotation
Rotate the pot occasionally.
